We know nothing, nothing at all,
And it would have been better if we knew no more,
For what we know will be our downfall,
And what we don‘t will hijack us ashore.
There‘s no beauty in this twisted game,
No glory to be found in the taking of life,
Yet some find beauty in the killing, just the same,
As if death were a lover, a partner in strife.
We cannot outrun the shadow of our fate,
Nor escape the grasp of the reaper‘s hand,
For we are all but actors on a mortal stage,
Playing out our parts in this cruel, indifferent land.
But perhaps in the end, we‘ll find some grace,
Some mercy in the arms of the unknown,
As we leave behind this mortal race,
And surrender ourselves to the great unknown.
